Gerry Andros

Gerald “Gerry” Andros leads the commercial functions as Senior Vice President of Commercial. Gerry is a seasoned Global Commercial Leader having served many organizations as a commercial lead for over 30 years launching both consumables, CRO services, and instrumentation in several market segments.  Gerry will be transitioning as a consultant for Spear Bio over the last 6 months where he has been developing the commercial strategy to begin the successful launch of new products into the Research market.  

Gerry began his career at Abbott Diagnostics as a direct representative, trainer, and sales leader for Abbott’s immunoassay, clinical chemistry, and hematology products. After 5 years at Abbott, Gerry joined IGEN International as their global commercial leader launching many new instruments, assay services, and assay kits into the proteomic area of research. In 10 years, which eventually established the foundation for Meso Scale Discovery after IGEN was acquired by Roche. 

Gerry for eight years next joined Applied Biosystems as the Applied Markets leader in the Americas for their market leading forensic products and other key products including food testing and microbial identification products. With the acquisition of Applied Biosystems by Life Technologies, Gerry continued to lead the Applied Markets effort while also becoming the Commercial lead in Latin America, Canada, as well as the US Government business, HLA products, and Gibco in the US.  

The last 12 years Gerry has been a global commercial leader at Bio-techne having started by leading the Americas multiple brands through acquisitions representing key brands of consumable (R&D Systems primarily) and Instrumentation (ProteinSimple primarily) product offerings.  Gerry during his tenure also managed EMEA, Asia, and led a global initiative for Key Accounts for Bio-Techne.
