2-Factor Authentication: the Foundation of SPEAR Biomarker Technology
Biomarker technology, in terms of protein quantification, has advanced beyond traditional immunoassays, which lack intrinsic signal amplification. Early immuno-PCR methods faced high non-specific background due to transient DNA oligo interactions. Innovations like proximity extension and digital ELISA improved sensitivity, but require high-affinity antibodies, complex workflows and/or proprietary instrumentation, while still being prone to transient interactions.
Successive Proximity Extension Amplification Reaction (SPEAR) overcomes these limitations with an ultra-sensitive and ultra-specific assay.
